Melissa Walton

I am the Leader of Marske Community Church and I am also currently studying for a degree in Theology, Mission and Ministry at Cranmer Hall, Durham, but I live in Redcar. I have previously been on the leadership of a small evangelical church in Oxford, where I also ran my own Driving School. I have spent much of my life working with children and young people but my passion is really for teaching all ages.

I put my faith in Jesus Christ at 16 years old and have faithfully served in the church, in various ways, since then. I love hearing God speak and I appreciate all my Christian brothers and sisters who help me as I seek to be obedient to Christ. I believe working with other churches and denominations is a really valuable experience. I have recently self-published a series of devotions (The Way of the Heart, Pilgrims Together) on the need to build open, trusting relationships with God and each other. I believe this is what it means to be church.

I am a trustee of the charity Destined To Win and have been a member of Girl guiding since I was about 6 years old. I love crafts such as cross-stitch, and enjoy ballroom dancing and swimming.
