Uganda Business School

D2W’s foreign mission team comprises passionate individuals with a heart for Africa – some of whom have regularly been to Africa on mission for 30+ years and others who are themselves homegrown on the continent. The team’s most current spotlight on Africa is its vision to set up a self-sustaining business mentoring school in Northern Uganda’s Adjumani district.

The project's planned execution is in partnership with Victory Life Church Adjumani, strategy consultants in the United Kingdom, and key local business leaders in Adjumani. The project’s purpose is to actively mentor micro and small scale entrepreneurs, businesswomen, and businessmen in core business functions: strategy, marketing, administration, operations, and financial management. Participants in the business mentoring school will be paired with serial entrepreneurs and experienced business leaders who are passionate about focused mentoring that accelerates micro-enterprise scaling.

Implementing the project is led by Ifeatu Uzodinma who has experience and expertise mentoring entrepreneurs to accelerate scaling up their enterprise. He previously partnered with the Office of the Vice President of Nigeria to launch a Humanitarian technology innovation hub in North-eastern Nigeria’s Boko Haram insurgency region. He was part of the team of business mentors that ran a scaling-up bootcamp for entrepreneurs at the hub. With the success of his bootcamp, he was recruited once more by the Office of the VP to run similar bootcamps at the Southern eco-innovation technology hub. Ifeatu has visited Adjumani where he conducted socioeconomic studies in South Sudanese refugee settlements. His research explored understanding post-conflict family economics and socioeconomic reintegration of conflict refugees as part of his PhD in Economics at the University of Reading in the United Kingdom.
